You are paid to collect appliances. Your cost of goods is negative. Almost nobody selling online can say that.
Right now that inventory leaves as steel at roughly $0.20–$0.50/kg. A whole washing machine is about $12–$30. The same machine broken into tested parts is $80–$300, and a good Fisher & Paykel SmartDrive motor alone clears the whole machine's scrap value ten times over.
The machine is: keep collecting exactly as you do now, add a 30-minute teardown step, and sell the output to the whole country instead of one scrap yard in Bell Block.
